Not sure if the canister shell is that good on PC, though it's a long time since I've used it.

With the hugely increased turret speed on PC it would certainly be easier to deal with enemies encroaching using the HMG. The limited turret speeds on console means I like the massive damage potential from the Canister, gives me an extra split second to back up and reassess.
